Summer Program  

Summer is right around the corner and our 2008 Summer Program has been planned. We have decided that our curriculum will center around the following premises:

Summer Reading/Writing Program for ages 5-12 years old

Much like the public library we will be holding our own summer reading program.  All children ages 5 to 12 will have 20 minutes of required reading time per day.  Children will have to write just a short book report after they complete each book.  KCF will provide age appropriate books for each child.  The child that reads the most books during the summer will receive a special prize during carnival week.

Zoo Trip

During animal week we will try to schedule a trip to the zoo for all children ages 3 to 12, provided said child is potty trained.  This will be at an additional cost to parents but should be a lot of fun.  To attend all children must wear a KCF shirt, which was issued at enrollment.

JK Lee Tae Kwon Do

In past years an instructor from JK Lee has come to the center to do a short demonstration with the children, as well as have the children break a board.  During this demonstration emphasis is placed on respecting others and good manners.  We will continue this event this summer during Olympic week.  There is no cost to the parents for this.  All we require is a permission slip allowing your child/ren to participate.  This event is only open to children ages 3 and up.

Basic Rules for Summer Program

bulletWe do accept children just for Summer vacation time.
bulletFamilies will still receive two weeks of vacation if only enrolled for the summer time.
bulletAll children must wear shoes with socks daily.  On water days water shoes should be worn for wet fun outside.

Children will need:

bulletA swimsuit
bulletA towel
bulletWater shoes
bulletWater bottle
bulletA change of clothes
bulletSunscreen (Authorization to apply slip will have to filled out prior to use.)
